As a 3rd generation physician, I grew up in medicine and watched healthcare change from what it was then to what it is now. I remember being in my grandfather’s office as a young boy. In his day things were very different. It was the days of the house call with the local physician that everyone knew in their community. There was a personal touch and attention then that has been lost in medicine today. During my father’s and uncle’s hay day in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s the insurance industry changed the atmosphere. Medicine became an assembly line. It has turned into a numbers game with doctors trying to see patients as fast as possible. The insurance industry forced their hand and even took medical decision making away from them. It’s very sad what we see today. Quick appointments with overworked doctors who seem not to care, and that’s if you see a doctor at all. Now there are medical practices filled with PAs and NPs creating a situation where patients never even see their doctor!
I aim to change it back to the way it was. Back to the days where your doctor was available and even came to your house. The days where you knew your doctor was listening and had time for you. Back to the days before health insurance companies dictated everything. I aim to change it to the way it should be! Which is why I am so excited to bring you Wood Healthcare Elite.
